Yes Ladies! You can keep your hair looking nice and styled and colored perfectly while traveling full time! I talked about it in my ‘For Ladies Only’ video on Youtube. If you haven’t seen it be sure to watch it. More details will be below! 🙂
One of the #1 reasons I see that women give for not wanting to travel full time, is hair! Yes, HAIR! It’s a thing, and I agree with you. Now, there are some ladies who just don’t find this important, and that’s fine, but some of us do find it important, not only that, a priority. I like hair and makeup. I’m not one of the ladies that think, ‘Oh well I’ll just cut it off, let the gray grow in’. Nope, not me, and you can call me whatever, princess, miss priss, city girl…I’ve heard it all, and I will just have to agree, if that is the term used for wanting to have nice hair and looked pulled together, then fine, call me whatever ha! I’ll just wear my tiara proudly.
It can be daunting when you have a regular ‘hair girl’ that you go to on a regular basis. Let’s get real, it is SO HARD to find someone that knows your hair and ‘gets’ you! My original plan was to ‘go back home’ to the area I moved from, on a regular basis, where I had a ‘hair girl’. And that would end up being a couple times a year. But that wasn’t often enough. There is something we call ‘roots’ and as much as we like to get ‘back to our roots’ in life, we don’t really want to see the roots in our hair!
First RV Hair Hack
One of my hacks is if I see someone in the area we are visiting, and I adore her hair, looks like my ‘hair goals’, I will approach them and compliment their hair. This gets their attention! Once you have their attention, ask them where they get their hair done! Sometimes they are tourists too (that’s a bummer when that happens) but you may get lucky!
Second RV Hair Hack
Another hack is #HASHTAGS!! This is my main source of finding a new ‘hair girl’. Hair stylists are commonly marketing themselves on InstaGram with hashtags. There are a variety I use to find some of my favorite hair stylists I have been to so far! The first one I use is #hairstylistsandiego when I am in San Diego. I just did this for Tampa #hairstylisttampa It takes you to a page on Instagram where you can browse pictures of hair. You find one you like, and click on it, and it will take you to their personal/business page where you can see their hair ‘portfolio’. It’s so simple. You can use other hashtags as well. I also search for #balayagetampa for balayage colorists or #tampablondespecialist . So find a hairstyle you like, or a hair color you like, and use those key words plus the area you are currently visiting. You can also ‘follow’ a hashtag page. I follow different ones, like balayage, so when I see a pic of hair that I love, I go to the source page and make a note of it, so if I am ever in that area, I know who to go to for great hair!
I will share some of my favorites I have found so far as I have traveled the country. If you visit one of them, be sure to tell them I sent you! I will be adding to this list of hairstylists as I travel and find more. 🙂 I still visit ‘my girl’ at home too, but only once a year or two. 🙂 Happy Hair Days ahead ladies!! So as you can see, YES you can travel and still look like your gorgeous self!!
For more tips and tricks and hacks for the road, staying beautiful and healthy and just general hacks, I have created a private Facebook group page where we can all come together to share ‘our finds’ and encourage one another on this journey! 🙂 (This link goes to our membership area on YouTube, just join at the ‘Behind the scenes access’ level to get instructions on how to join the private Facebook Group) Help me add to this great hairstylist list!! See you there! – Cheri

I’m looking for the Haircut companion blog but I don’t see it here. Can you tell me how to find it?
I’m actually very interested in the haircuts you recommend. I can’t find that bit of information.
