We spent the afternoon at another Mayan Ruins site, Tulum. The ruins are situated on 30 ft tall cliffs along the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya. The grounds are beautiful with tall palm trees and the view of the sea was gorgeous.
There were signs of a ‘no fly zone’ for drones as we entered the grounds, but as soon as we were out of that ‘territory’ Tom took the drone up and got some amazing footage.
At the end of our tour, we went to the bazaar where I haggled with a ‘Señor’ for a mandala beach/picnic throw. He was tough! Tom got in on the action and as we were ‘walking away’, he was calling Tom ‘El Cheapo’, hahaha, it was so funny! We ended up going back and getting the fair price we wanted. Such a fun & beautiful day 🙂
