We enjoyed our stay in Indiana touring the Grand Design RV factory. But Before we head south, it’s time for one more meal out to celebrate. We stopped at Fireside Craft Burgers & Brews in LaGrange Indiana.
Then we headed South to the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina where Cheri’s family had a cabin rented just in time for the fall color season! We couldn’t wait to get there, but this trip had some unexpected challenges and learning lessons in store for us. Watch the full video here!
As we arrived in Kentucky, Tom noticed a sign for the Ark Encounter. We had both heard about this in the news and were curious to check it out. So we decided to take few hours to do some exploring. The Ark Encounter is a life-sized reconstruction of Noah’s Ark. The Ark Encounter is located in Grant County in Williamstown, Kentucky, halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington right off I-75. This was a cool experience, but we were both surprised to find that the re-creation also included dinosaurs??
Along the way we stayed at 3 Harvest Hosts: Balmoral Woods in Crete IL, Colonial Oaks Golf Club in Fort Wayne Indiana, and Wertz Tree Farm in Franklin OH.
Watch part 2 here! Thanks so much for watching!

Ha Tom do you have an engine brake. My F450 does and I always go down slower on big hills. Hope you both are safe and hope to meet one day. Don and Joni from Fairfield Ohio. Almost fulltimers
why don’t you use real flashlights, head lamps really help, look silly but so does walking around with a cell phone..
“the
re-creationtheme park also included dinosaurs”The wife and I did the Ark Encounter last year as well. As you know, it’s huge. We were with a group of friends and spent 4 hours there and didn’t get to see it all. It’s not a “buzz through”.
Some advice, if you were surprised by the truck and mobile home, you’re not checking your mirrors often enough. Gets particularly critical when you’re the slowest thing on the freeway.
I agree with Jason, get yourself a real flashlight! One of the rechargeable LED would work great for you. Plug it into the trucks power outlet and it’s always available.
The Harvest Host sounds interesting, but we don’t drink or golf, and I do like to spend a few bucks at the establishment when we stop at a place like that.
I appreciate you showing “the warts”.
Be careful out there!
