HI, My name is jimmy and I have been following you and others on this frame flex issue. The proper term would be plastic yielding or fracture by the way. I am now retired from the structure steel industry after 50 years and am getting ready to purchase my first RV. Having seen many of these frame failures you have been rereferring to it didn’t take long to see what the problem was. It is simply the size of the hollow steel sections (HSS), the means and methods used to connect these components at the pin box and upper platform to the riser, and the axle connection assemblies, or lack thereof, at the lower frame. However, the fix after the manufacturing level is much more complicated and costly. This is why Lippert and Grand Design have been somewhat silent. Having listened to a certain You Tube channel and Lippert engineering comments on how foam filled sidewall are part of the structural steel support framing system, total BS, I thought I would get a little involved. I would welcome the opportunity to have a short conversation with to relate my structure knowledge on the subject. To write it all down would take some time.
